27/09 - 28/09 Vienna

The train to Vienna is like watching the beautiful scenery of back country Germany on repeat - for 5 hours. Vienna is beautifully historic; the home of Mozart, Sigmund Freud, The Walzt and the oldest zoo in the world. People commute on bikes, the locals are friendly and the schnitzel is bountiful.

Day 1 - Early wake up, free breakfast, check out and we're ready to explore. We accidentally stumbled across a music theatre on our quest to find Hofburg and spent the morning looking at castles. From here we climbed 343 steps up and 343 steps down to view Vienna at the top of the Stephansdom Church. Feeling exhausted we had a decent pub feed and it was off to explore Schönbrunn - the oldest zoo in the world where the old cages and atmosphere still takes its 17th century form. A speedy adventure through the animal kingdom and it's off to Budapest!

Vienna in a day was blissful, amazing and flawlessly beautiful.

24/09/ - 27/09 Oktoberfest, Munich

2hr flight out of Athens, a bumpy train ride and so much anticipation to see Kirst and Jacq in Munich and we are finally here, Germany!

Day 1 - The girls greet us with giant gingerbread hearts and a few tears, we shopped around Munich city centre, had a good ole fashion German feed amongst medieval looking castles and locals in leiderhosens and then it was back to our hostel to meet our new roomie, Lauren. After we got to know each other it was to the shops to gather pre drinks and nibblies to begin the night with. 3 hours later and we are beyond smashed, too many drinks and crackers and it's to the club which is conveniently in our hostel. Table dances, cocktails, steins, Gangnam Style and old Greece friends - a quiet night out turned into an all nighter.

Day 2 - First day at Oktoberfest, wake up feeling very hungover and worse for wear, ate breakfast on the same table we danced on the night before, got dressed up in our beer wench outfits and it was off to the festival. Oktoberfest is like the Easter show, except everyone is wasted and in costume and you're allowed to do whatever you want. Our beer hall of choice was the Lowenbrau. 3 steins in and Jacq and I decide to bite the bullet, stand up on our table and skull a stein each, the first girls to do it that day! We had the whole beer tent chanting for our inevitable drunkennes, proust!

Day 3 - Hungover, smelling of beer and ready for day 2 at Oktoberfest! We ate, drank, danced and soaked up the merriness of thousands of drunk Germans! Met up with old school mates, had too many steins and wines, got cut off at the HB tent and at our peak explored a fun house maze of mirrored walls and turning floors.

Day 4 - Early morning goodbyes to Jacq, free breakfast, hungover times and we're on a 5 hour train to Vienna, see you next year Oktoberfest!

20/09 - 24/09 Athens

Back in Athens after a 9hr ferry ride, a casual bag break in and an army of cabs and gypsies.

First day - Saying goodbye to the boys after a pastry breakfast and a visit to Remember Fashion where almost all my favourite bands have casually browsed through punk tees and tartan pants. Athens is on strike for the next week so we had to catch a cab to the village of Akrata to begin our farmlife adventure with Anthea's papou nicki. It's absolutely standard to speed in Athens, the speed limit was 60, our cabby was hitting 170... After a not so safe trip and 2 hours in a sweaty cab we were finally there to greet the family and have a good ole fashion family Greek feast.

Day 2 - Waking up on a farm is like having a constant animal clock that hasn't got snooze. We ate fresh eggs, picked fruit and explored the surrounding villages by foot. For dinner more family arrived and we ate gyros, drank ouzo and had Greek lessons.

Day 3 - last day in Akrata, saying goodbye to all the animals, enjoying more farm fresh food and boarding a 2hr bus ride back to Athens to meet another of Antheas relatives.

Day 4 - Exploring Athens - we caught a cable car to the highest point and watched 4 million people live under us. From here we sussed out the acropolis and the museum that displays all the stories and statues that once surrounded it, actually breath taking!!!

Early night in, 3am wake up tomorrow en route to Munich, Germany!!

15/09 - 20/09 Ios

A day in Ios is all your body needs, more than a day and you're being a drunkard.

Few things about Ios; everyone gets fucked up, shots are €1, if you drink too much you get given a shirt, it's completely normal to be smashed in the head with a fridge door by the bartender after he pours you a drink, nothing opens until noon and days are spent preparing for the escapades of the coming night.

Day 1; Got into Ios at noon and we were lucky enough to see our old mates from Mykonos, Ak and Torrell! We laid by the pool said our goodbyes to the boys and got ready for a night to remember. Pre drinks pouring, music blaring, ready to hit the town at 10:30. First stop Funbar, for every 7 shots you get a free singlet - Anthea and I got one each after being there for 15 minutes. I drunkenly played life sized Jenga with some Canadian snowboarders and got silly on the dance floor with the gang. Next stop Flames for flaming lamborghini's, tribal face paint and too many shots. On our way to the next bar and I epically sprained my ankle - night over.

Day 2 - Drunken injuries must be a standard in Ios - the reception at Farout Beach resort have a concerning amount of crutches and if you need a hospital there's a bus that takes you from out the front straight to the waiting room. Not being able to walk, coping stares from all the people I met the night before and extending our stay for an extra 2 days to party more and get silly!

Day 3 - Wake up ankle is feeling sore but I'm too keen for a night out, it's time to light the night on fire! First we started at Harmony for a mexican feast where the live music is almost as good as the food, then it was time to party! Our starter bar stop is a cafe that offers €1 shots or for €5 get two doubles and two shots - dangerous way to start a night out, next stop is orange bar where you can buy every chocolate bar imaginable but in shot form! From here we went to Slammers - probably the only place I know of that offers a kick, a fridge door, a milk crete, a mallet or a fire hydrant to the head after you buy a drink. I got the mallet, Chris got the hydrant. From here it was off to flames for more shots, tribal face paint and dance floor times! The night ended at breakfast.

Day 4 - Recovery times, pool chills and a thai night out with the gang to farewell our times spent partying! Back to our resort for sneaky harvesting of prickly pears and an early night to prepare for the 9hr ferry ride to Athens tomorrow!

11/09 - 14/09 Santorini

You know those typical postcards you see with really pretty white and blue buildings and the most amazing sunset hanging in the background - that's Santorini and it looks like that every day. People get around on donkeys, eat prickly-pears and bathe in the sunlight. It's one of the most beautiful places in the world and that's an understatement!

Day 1: Got in about noonish, we quickly threw our bags into our dorms, which were actually surprisingly spacious..then we hit the pool which was 4ft at the deepest point. The boys played frisbee and had swim-offs! From here we cleaned ourselves up and hit the town for a feed with the busabout group - stuffed peppers, vegetable rissoto and honey sesame feta! We shopped around for a bit and hit the hay early.

Day 2 - The bucket-list tour! A tourist must see list of all the Santorini beauties - we hit up black beach, red beach, the monastery and went wine tasting on the sea cliff! It was then back to our apartments to scrub up, smoke Cuban cigars and watch the boys shave their heads for a picnic on a cliff edge while watching the sunset.

Day 3 - Up bright and early, we got tickets to see Santorinis active volcano which was responsible for burying the most advance humans on earth B.C, the minoans! We hiked up hundreds of meters above see level, felt the warmth of the volcano sear our legs, smelt the stench of sulphur and ash and learnt the history of santorinis structure. We were fortunate enough to catch the cablecar to the port and caught a glass bottom boat to the hot springs! We bathed in mud, swam in the middle of the Aegean ocean and did sneaky back flips off the boats ledge. Back to the apartment to drink too much, party too hard and go to bars where it's completely acceptable to dance on the bar amongst the drinks and bartenders!

Day 4 - All sorta dieing after last night so we had a mid-day breakfast and visited the beautiful town of Imerovigli for a breath taking sunset and explorations of cliffs and rooftops.

Now it's off to the crazy island of Ios!
